First published in 1742 in which the dedication is signed by the editor Tho. Sampson. The book is arranged in twenty eight sections each dealing with a different area of life: of Vanity, Folly, and Affectation; of Women, Love, and Marriage; of Retirement and the Private Life, etc. Sources for each sentence are give, although not all are named, as many are taken from periodical publications.
