'.the most zealous literary efforts appear to have been formerly made, to stigmatise the Hebrew as a class of people quite undeserving the protection of the British Sovereign, unworthy of admission within the pale of the British Constution, and unworthy even of the liberal or equitable consideration of the British people.' The author questions the 'allegations hitherto so generally promulgated.' and supports the 'just claims of the Jews'. Charles Egan was a legal author; R.
