About this Item

A first edition fifth impression, second edition, metric, second impression published by Maskew Miller. A very good book SIGNED on the title page without dedication by Doris Lessing and Nadine Gordimer. Some rubbing to the edges and some spotting here and there. Rare to find both signatures. In 2001 Lessing was awarded the David Cohen Prize for a lifetime's achievement in British literature. In 2008 The Times ranked her fifth on a list of "The 50 greatest British writers since 1945".
