Synopsis
This book sets out to challenge the orthodoxies of Christianity by advocating for Unitarianism as the form of the faith most likely to inspire spiritual fulfillment. The author insists that Unitarianism promotes a pious disposition by stressing the oneness of God, the spirituality of God, the intelligibility of God, the perfection of God, and the overarching unity between God and nature. The author maintains that Unitarianism is most conducive to a religion of the heart while acknowledging the intellectual variety of Christian beliefs. Rather than posit Unitarianism as the sole valid interpretation of Christianity, it presents one system in contrast with another, giving reasons for preferring the former to the latter. Above all, this book celebrates the life and work of Jesus Christ, viewing him not just as the supreme exemplar of piety but as the revealer of the Father's love.
