Excerpt from Jashan Committee and the Parsi Community: A Survey
Every community, whether small or large in number has its philosophy, its customs and its traditions. Philosophy is its re ligion, its Dharma, its 'din'. In fact, the two expressions are interchangeable. Customs and traditions change with the times. A community can only survive if it adheres to its religion. The decline of a community begins when religion is given literally a go-by, customs and traditions get a preponderance over it, giving rise to fanaticism, intolerance and bigotry.
