Synopsis
This book is a collection of 52 letters originally written by the author during her tenure as a weekly contributor to The Banner of Light. The letters recount the author's personal experiences with spiritualism and the impact it's had on her life. The author's brother had been confined to an insane asylum for 32 years, and upon being allowed to take him into her care, the author used spiritualism to help ameliorate his condition, leading to improvements in his mental state. She also explores her own struggles with partial blindness, the removal of cataracts, and an operation to correct the shape of the lens in her left eye. The author's insights into spiritual development, the nature of consciousness, and the afterlife are interwoven throughout.
