L' istesso si pdi?) dire nel nostro Tasso degl'incanti d' Ismeno, dell' ambasceria d' Argante ed Alete della novella portata a Goffredo del morto Principe de' Dani, e co se tali; poichè le cose ivi trattate appartengono al l'impresa ed hanno qualche congiunzione colla fa vola, sebben non appare che sia tanta e tale, che sicuramente possano annoverarsi tra le parti essen ziali. Insomma il poema non è a guisa d' uomo 0 ca vallo armato, nel quale a prima vista si discerne quello che vi sia di proprio, com'è la testa, il brac cio il piede; e quello che vi sia trasportato ed ag giunto di fuori, com' è l'elmo, il cimiero, la sella, il freno, l' armature e cose simili; ma è a guisa di pit tura o giardino ove molte cose possono portar dub bio, se appartengono alla costituzione del 50gorctto.
