Synopsis
This book is the third in a set intended for the study and practice of music in unison, two and three parts. The author's aim was to produce material that would succeed and improve upon the original course, and users of this book will note the absence of the impression that the minor mode is chiefly suited to melancholic subjects. The author believed that excessive use of minor exercises and songs would be monotonous and depressing, so has provided a variety of rhythm, mode, and cheerful content. Although originally intended for classroom use, this book contains beautiful songs that will appeal to a wider audience. Many are enduring favorites, and new ones are added, using classics of verse set to newly composed music. This book makes a valuable addition to the available study materials for young singers and could serve equally well as a source of uplifting songs for any occasion.
