Diese und ähnliche Erwägungen bildeten den Ausgangsmmct fur meine Untersuchung der Sagitten. Um durch eigene Ecob achtungen mit der Entstehung der Leibeshöhle durch Einfaltung des Entoblasts bekannt zu werden, schien mir das geeigneteste Oh ject die Sagitta zu sein, an welcher Kowalevsky den Process zuerst mit aller Deutlichkeit verfolgt hat; auch wurde bei ihrer Wahl der Umstand mit maassgebend, dass sie unter den mit einem Coelom ausgestatteten Würmern bei dem Mangel des Blutgefässsy stems und der wenig ausgeprägten Gliederung des Körpers un streitig eine sehr tiefe Stufe einnimmt. Meine Aufgabe war zu zeigen, in welchem Verhältniss bei einem Thiere mit Enterocoel die einzelnen Organe und Gewebe zu den beiden primitiven Keim blättern stehen. Um diese Aufgabe zu lösen, konnte ich mich auf das Studium der Entwicklungsgeschichte nicht beschranken, sondern ich musste auch die Anatomie und Histologie des fertigen Thieres mit untersuchen, da eine genaue Kenntniss derselben auch auf die Entstehung der Theile Licht wirft.
