But up to the present there has been no published investigation of the poetry us.d in heligious Education; especially the hymns, either from the standpoint of the content of material or from that of response. This, then appealed to the author as a field worthy of investigation. Since neither phase of this subject has been studied it was open to him to choose, and he has chosen to attempt a measure ment of content.
