Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book contains narratives of the experiences of Conquistadors in the early 1500s, beginning with the arrival of Cortes and his crew at Cozumel. The text details early interactions with the indigenous peoples Cortes and his crew encountered, including descriptions of the local ceremonial rituals, culture, and economic activities. This book offers a unique look at the initial European perception of Mexico. In addition to detailing indigenous peoplesâ ways of living, the text includes reflections on the Spanish colonial mindset at this early stage in their venture into the region. The accounts provide valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities present at the outset of their colonizing project.
