Im Uebrigen berichtet das erste Cap. Die Berufung Jer 's, und zerfällt in zwei unter sich zusammenhängende Stücke. V'. 4 - 10. Ernennt ihn Jehova und befähigt ihn zum Redner seines Wortes, zugleich eine erhobene Einwendung beseitigend. Hieran schliesst sich V. 11 - 19. Zunächst die Versicherung, Jehova werde die Worte, welche der Prophet weissagen soll, auch erfüllen; sodann wird das Wie der Erfüllung veranschaulicht V.' 13 Beides in Form von Visionen. Hierauf kehrt die Aufforderung verstärkt zurück; und Jer wird zu tapferer Ausdauer durch das Verspre chen des göttlichen Beistandes ermuthigt.
