Dagegen Horatius und Ovidius, die ihre Aufmerksamkeit gerne dem frischen Leben der Gegenwart zuwenden, bedienen sich lieber der neu aufkommenden Sprech weise. Horatius stellt sich sogar in einen theoretischen Gegen satz zu den veralteten Dichtungen der Vorzeit.
