Synopsis
In a joyous marriage that belies the tragic events that follow, this book tells the story of Heracles, a heroic figure in Greek mythology, and Deianira, daughter of King Oeneus of Calydon. As Heracles sets out from Trachis, Deianira is plagued by a terrible secret: the poisoned cloak she has given her husband in an attempt to win back his love.
