De la Formation du Mode Mineur par l'Évolution, la Transformation Et la Fixité (Classic Reprint) (French Edition) - Softcover
Synopsis
This book delves into the evolution of the minor scale in the context of Western music. The author traces its formation from the emergence of the major scale, explaining the gradual process of adding accidentals and the significance of the circle of fifths. The discussion delves into the debate between proponents of the fixed-tone plain chant system and those advocating for the progressive major scale system. The author explores the emergence of the minor mode as a synthesis of these contrasting approaches, highlighting its unique characteristics and contrasting intervals. By presenting the minor scale as a culmination of historical developments, the author illuminates the profound understanding of musical principles that shaped its creation.
