Similar to earlier versions, it sets out prayers for each day of the year, including the full texts of the Psalms. It also features readings from the Old and New Testaments, along with the lives of saints. Of particular note, it includes one of the earliest examples of a musical invitation by a choir to the congregation. The Breviary was originally prepared by Cardinal Quignon, and was intended to replace earlier versions that had fallen into disuse. Quignon's 1535 version would undergo further revisions.
