Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book, an exploration of the evolution of algebraic number theory, delves into the history of breakthroughs by Gauss, Kronecker, and Dedekind. It examines foundational concepts, including Kronecker's introduction of modular systems to generalize number theory to encompass functions. In particular, the author focuses on prime modular systems, drawing parallels with prime numbers in elementary number theory. The author demonstrates the elegance and effectiveness of these systems, extending many theorems on modules and ideals to the theory of modular systems, and lays a foundation for the reduction of general modular systems to simpler forms. This book extends the domain of rationality traditionally limited to rational or algebraic numbers, employing functions of one or more variables with algebraic coefficients, and invites readers to explore this new frontier in number theory.
