Excerpt from Thankfulness, a Narrative: Comprising Passages From the Diary of the Rev. Allan Temple
Alas! What is so common 'as a spirit of unthank fulness, even among those who are not forgetful of God or if there is not a positive unthankfulness, how seldom do we find a spirit of direct thankful ncss! In the ungodly this is not to be wondered at. Where there is not a sense of God's goodness, there will be no love toward Him and where there is no love, it naturally follows there is no thankfulness: if unholy then unthankful. Such, alas is the state of society in a Christian country.

Through Temple's diary and personal narrative, this book offers an engaging insight into the religious and social landscape of the period, exploring themes of faith, thankfulness, obedience, and the transformative power of the gospel.
