This book contains the proceedings of two trials held in the High Court of Justiciary at Edinburgh, one against Alexander McLaren and the other against Thomas Baird, for sedition. The trials took place in March 1817. McLaren was a weaver and Baird a merchant, both from Kilmarnock in Ayrshire.
