Er lernte auf diese Weise, seiner Entwicklung sozusagen, Schritt für Schritt, nachzugehen; manche Verhältnisse und Beziehungen wurden ihm nun erst klar, manches bis dahin als feststehend betrachtete erwies sich ihm im Lichte dieser histo rischen Betrachtung als nicht haltbar.
