The theory extends Weierstrass's ideas on power series for functions that are analytic in a region, establishing essential properties of those functions. The author does this using integral calculus and a detailed examination of domains. The approach differs from previous theories that define functions as series or by arbitrary rules. The author instead uses the Cauchy integral and develops the concept of a Weierstrass domain to demonstrate new ideas about analytic functions.
