Rich notes illuminate manuscript history, textual variants, and the scholarly method behind the edition. This volume frames the reception and interpretation of a foundational work in the philosophy of mind. It foregrounds the challenges of reconstructing ancient texts from multiple hands, and it shows how modern editors decide between competing readings while preserving the original voice.
