Synopsis
This book is the product of the 1784 ordination of Methodist ministers in America by John Wesley, father of the Methodist revival, who sought to reform the Church of England and spread evangelical Protestantism. The volume contains the Articles of Religion, which the author describes as "the doctrines and discipline of the Methodist Episcopal Church", and were founded on the author's own experiences and observations, as well as ancient and modern Church practices. It also includes the form and minutes of the organization's General Conference, considered its highest legislative body, which the author deems necessary to its success and the organization as a whole. Furthermore, the book outlines the roles and duties of the organization's various officers, as well as the rules for its membership. The author shares that by following these guidelines, the Methodist Episcopal Church has, since its inception, reformed the continent and spread Scriptural holiness over the land.
