Aa'ron. A physician of Alexandria, author of thirty books in the Syriac tongue, containing the whole practice of physic, chiefly collected from the Greek writings, and supposed to have been written before A. D. 620. He first mentioned, and described, the smau pox and measles, which were probably brought thither by the Arabians. He directed the vein under the tongue to be Opened in jaundice, and noticed the white colour of the faces in that disease. His works are lost, except some fragments, preserved by Rhazes.
