Excerpt from Report of the State Commission of Forestry for the Year July 1, 1935 to June 30, 1936
Sirs: Pursuant to Section 3 of the Act of Assembly, creating the State Commission of Forestry, approved April 26, 1927 which provides that the Commission shall inquire into and make annual report upon forest conditions in South Carolina, with reference to the preservation of forests, the effect of the de struction of forests upon the general welfare of the State, and other matters pertaining to the subject of forestry and tree growth, including recommendations to the public generally as to reforestation, I have the honor to submit the report of the Commission for the period July 1, 1935, to June 30, 1936.
