This book introduces readers to Lie Theory of one-parameter groups, emphasizing its applications to solving differential equations that remain unchanged under continuous groups. While the theory is elementary enough to be understood by senior undergraduates, graduate students in their first year can also benefit. The author has taken care to include numerous examples and applications in ordinary differential equations to illustrate the text. Throughout the work, the author highlights the role played by Lie Theory in unifying the elementary theory, bringing classes of equations invariant under continuous groups and methods for their solution under a small group of topics. The book also includes a short chapter on contact transformations and a sketchy note on r-parameter groups. An exposition of the general theory is beyond the scope of this work, but the author aimed to bring out the relations between r-parameter groups and their infinitesimal transformations as concisely as possible.
