Excerpt from A Handbook of Labor Literature: Being a Classified and Annotated List of the More Important Books and Pamphlets in the English Language
Whether the labor question be approached by the man who finds that things as they are, are good enough for me, or by him Who sees and is striving for a better industrial life, he needs to know the best which has been thought and written in the world. If his thinking is less than this, if it is confined to economic thought, he loses sight of important aspects of the subject. There is, however, great need at the present time of definite information on the question in its specific forms. It was to facilitate the search for this information that this handbook was undertaken.
