Compendium der Kinderkrankheiten, translated many years ago with the cooperation of Dr. E. J. Doe/ring, while fellow stu dents at the University of Berlin. This joint translation in time became the basis of an annual course of lectures delivered at the Chicago Medical College, and these lectures recondensed have furnished the material for this Compend. At this date it would be difficult, if not impossible, to state exactly how much credit should revert to Henoch, Kormann, Bouchut, Baginsky, Steiner and others, all of whom were drawn upon freely in the preparation of these lectures, and in a work of this character, individual acknowledgment has not been attempted except in case of direct quotation.
