To put a careful selection of these terms and abbreviations, taken from various sources, into one list, which may be of assistance to librarians and catalogers, as well as to book lovers, is the endeavor here made, however imperfect its exe cution may be.

The only attempt at originality has been to make the list as Simple and as easy to use as possible.
