Excerpt from Sketches and Sonnets Illustrative of the Spire of St. James' Church, Louth

Strictly businesslike till then, occupied with costs and charges, borrowing and repayment, stoppage and recommencement, the scribe breaks out at last in an enthusiastic description of the concluding ceremonies, the joyful end crowning a glorious work.
