Excerpt from Zarathushtra and the Greeks, Vol. 1: A Discussion of the Relation Existing Between the Ameshaspentas and the Logos Being
In Special studies like the present completed sections necessarily become detachable units; and critical writers more often than not have published treatises upon parts of the main lore which engages their professional attention at certain intervals.
This discussion was asked of me long since by representative persons, which is another reason why I present a portion of it now, notwithstanding the fact that all, or almost all the remaining parts of it lie ready type-written to the printer's hand 1.

Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book, analyzing the Zoroastrian sacred texts, the Zend-Avesta, and the philosophical ideas of ancient Greek thinkers (Philo in particular), argues that the former predates the latter and is not indebted to them as previously believed. The author, one of the foremost scholars of Zoroastrianism, thoroughly refutes the claim that Zoroastrianism was influenced by Platonism or Philonianism. He presents a detailed examination of Avesta texts, particularly the Gathas, to demonstrate their independent development and originality. The book significantly contributes to our understanding of the antiquity and development of Zoroastrian thought and its relationship to other philosophical traditions.
