J ede solche Einleitung kann nur von einem bestimmten philosophischen Standpunkte ausgehen. Hier ist dafür der realistische Standpunkt gewählt worden, da dieser dem ge wöhnlichen Vorstellen der Gebildeten am verwandtesten ist, und da' er durch die ihm eigene beobachtende Methode am leichtesten vermag, den Laien in das Gebiet der philo swhischen Begriffe einzuführen und für die Auffassung der verschiedenen Systeme empfänglich zu machen. Da es bei dieser Einleitung mithin weniger auf Begründung eines bestimmten Systems, als auf Orientirung des Lesers ankommt, so ist sie auf eine Darstellung der Begriffe und Gesetze des Wissens beschränkt worden. Die Gebiete des Seienden werden gelegentlich, je nachdem die ein zelnen Werke dazu Anlass geben, nachgeholt werden.
