Consejero en la política, y al cabo como Jefe de la República. El aplauso en su tiempo y en su posteridad, coronan la obra de esa personalidad, hay de por fuerza que proclamar en ella una altura poco común. Máxime si se toman en cuenta los azares las pasiones y las turbulen cias propias de la politica. Así. Es menester, para que la historia la guarde, legar escrita.
