On avait déterminé d'avance le format du papier destiné aux dessins à faire en Egypte; la plus grande dimension était d'une feuille entière exactement divisée en moitié et en quart de feuille: ce même format a été adopté pour la publication; il n'y a donc pas eu de dessin à terminer ou à refaire à loisir; les originaux mêmes ont été mis dans les mains des artistes c'est le type lui - même, et non pas des copies qu'on retrouve sur nos planches.
