Excerpt from Poema de Mio Cid
Este Cantar de Mio Cid, resto casi único de la poesia heroico - popular castellana, se conserva en un manuscrito, único también, copiado en el ano 1307 por un tal Pedro Abad. Para hacer su copia, este amanuense se sirvió de un texto muy antiguo, el cual contenía ya ciertos yerros que nos permiten asegurar que no era ciertamente el primitivo original escrito hacia 1140 (i). A la - copia de Pedro Abad le falta una hoja en el comienzo y dos en el interior del códice.
