Nella Prefazione messa innanzi al libro sull'islamismo, ho detto molte cose che si riferiscono anche a quest'altro che ora gli tien dietro e lo compie, che prende il titolo dalla Letteratura araba. Giova. Percio non ripetere il gra detto, ovvero ricordar soltanto come, in quella Pre fazione, toccassi e della vastità del campo da percorrere. E della varietà. Molteplice e complessa dell'argomento, e delle difficoltà. Gravissime da superare, massime in questa seconda parte. Vi ho pure accennato alle fonti, agli au tori consultati, al metodo seguito nel tradurre i molti passi di scrittori da me riferiti, al modo mio di trascri vere, perchè pm facilmente possano esser rilevati e pro nunciati da lettori italiani, i nomi propri e le voci arabe che man mano avessi dovuto notare.
