Excerpt from Dei Sepolcri: Carme

Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book explores the origins and poetic reasoning behind one of the most celebrated Italian literary works, "Sepolcri" (Tombs), originally penned by Ugo Foscolo. The author delves into Foscolo's life and times, examining the personal experiences and intellectual influences that shaped his unique perspective on death, remembrance, and the significance of burial customs. Through a meticulous analysis of Foscolo's early writings and personal correspondence, the book sheds light on the evolution of his thought and the development of the ideas that would later find their ultimate expression in "Sepolcri." The author argues that the work's enduring relevance stems from its exploration of universal human themes and its profound insights into the nature of mortality and the human condition.
