Excerpt from Meditations sur la Passion Et le Précieux Sang de Notre-Seigneur Jesus-Christ
Monseigneur J. S. Raymond, décédé le jour même de la fête du Précieux Sang, 3 juillet 1887, préparait cet ouvrage pour l'impression quand 1a mort est venue si inopinément nous l'enlever. Lui-même avait commencé à réviser et à disposer les considérations et les méditations sur la Pas sion, en indiquant l'ordre à suivre. Il ne restait plus qu'à mettre une dernière main à ce travail, et à le compléter en y ajoutant d'autres médi tations sur le Précieux Sang, tirées des notes nombreuses que préparait notre dévoué Père pour ses diverses conférences et instructions.
C'est ce que nous venons de faire, grâce à l'ohli geance de monsieur le Supérieur du Séminaire de saint-hyacinthe, lequel est resté en possession des volumineux écrits du digne Prélat, et qui a bien voulu nous permettre de porter une main respectueuse et filiale sur quelques-uns de ces trésors doublement précieux pour nous.
