A corporation called The Pueblo and Arkansas Valley History company. Railroad Company was incorporated under the laws of the Territory of Colorado on March 24, 1875, and on Sep tember 29, 1875 was consolidated with two other com panics previously organized under the laws of the said Territory, viz: the Colorado and New Mexico Railroad Company and The Pueblo and Salt Lake Railway Com pany. The consolidated company preserved the name of The Pueblo and Arkansas Valley Railroad Company with out change.

An amendment to the charter of this company was filed on July 30, 1878, and on September 12, 1878 the company was consolidated with the Canon City and San Juan Railway Company, which had been incorporated on February 19, 1877. The consolidated company still retained the name of The Pueblo and Arkansas Valley Railroad Company. An amendment to its charter was filed on March 21, 1887, and a second amendment to its charter was filed on May 25, 1888.

It will thus be seen that there were three different corporations successively called The Pueblo and Ar kansas Valley Railroad Company, the powers of the first two now being held by the third together with the powers of the other consolidating companies.
