Synopsis

A steadfast American consul faces political pressure and personal loyalty on a globe‑trotting stage.

In this vivid maritime tale, a veteran diplomat must stand by his ethics when Washington’s demands collide with local regulations and hard‑nosed politics. The story follows a cast of colorful naval and diplomatic figures as they navigate honor, ambition, and the costs of doing the right thing.

With danger, humor, and a keen eye for character, the book blends scenes of port towns, grand ships, and quiet moments of moral choice. The setting shifts from Caribbean harbors to white‑gloved dinners on a warship, all while the protagonist weighs duty against friendship and public pressure.

• A diplomat’s career tested by a president’s politics and local rules.
• Tense exchanges that reveal integrity, loyalty, and the cost of standing firm.
• Vivid maritime atmosphere, from steam launches to naval dinners.
• A supporting cast of officers, politicians, and friends who shape the outcome.

Ideal for readers who enjoy classic historical fiction with sharp character conflicts and a keen sense for diplomatic intrigue.
