My plan was to repair to a horde of the Koraquas, efiablilhed at the difiance of fourteen or fifteen leagues farther to the north-call: Twelve perfons, men and women, of that which Iwas going to leave, joined themfelves to my caravan, and fervcd'me as guides. We pmpofed to halt on the banks of a river, Titu ated four leagues and a half from our point of departure; but we found the bed of it occa pied by a herd of more than an hundred buf faioes, which my dogs roofed, and which fled from Us on the Oppofite fide.
