Innerhalb der er steren Gruppe sind diejenigen Dialekte vorweg genommen, welche sich besonders eigenartig entwickelt haben: sie machen den vor liegenden ersten Band aus. Nachher wird die Anordnung im wesentlichen geographisch sein: zunächst die nord und mittel griechischen Mundarten, dann die der Peloponnes und der Inseln. Bei den e-dialekten beschränken wir uns darauf die ionischen Inschriften mitzuteilen; die attischen sind aus naheliegenden Gründen, ausgeschlossen.
