Yarn appearance grades continue to average lower for the l958-cr0p cotton tested through October 31 as compared with the same period in 1957. Picker and card waste and foreign matter content are on considerably lower levels than last year and average nep count is slightly higher. Other fiber properties continue to average about the same as last year.
Results contained in this report include early harvested cottons from New Mexico, California, and the Plains area of Texas; midseason lots from the South Central states and Oklahoma; and late season selections from the Southwestern area.
