Excerpt from Katholisch oder Jesuitisch?: Drei Zeitgeschichtliche Untersuchungen

Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book is a literary analysis of the history and development of Catholicism from the perspective of the broader ideological shifts within the Church since the mid-19th century. The author provides various examples of how the Church has struggled to maintain its authority throughout history, and how internal schisms and the rise and fall of various factions have shaped the modern face of the Church. The author argues that the Church's struggles with modernity reflect a larger tension between the desire to maintain tradition and the need to adapt to changing social and intellectual conditions.
