Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book provides an in-depth examination of physiological optics, with a particular focus on the color perception processes occurring within the retina of the eye. The author, a respected researcher in the field, presents a detailed exploration of the intricate interplay between different types of nerve fibers in the retina and how they contribute to our perception of light and color. Through the introduction of a novel apparatus called the leukoscope, the author demonstrates groundbreaking insights into the subjective nature of color perception. The leukoscope allows for the precise manipulation of light and color, enabling researchers to observe and quantify the remarkable variations in light perception and color discrimination among different individuals. The findings presented in this book challenge the widely held assumption that the three primary colorsâ"red, green, and violetâ"are sufficient to explain the full range of human color perception. The author's research suggests that additional factors, such as the varying light perception capabilities of individuals, play a significant role in shaping our subjective experiences of color. Ultimately, this book offers a comprehensive understanding of the complex mechanisms underlying our perception of light and color. It advances our knowledge in the field of physiological optics and provides valuable insights for researchers and practitioners alike.
