Of the epiiemeitis relating to the Sun were made from Mr. Maa's lafl: manufcript Tables, received by the Board of Longitude after his Deccafe, which have been printed under my Infpe�tion, and publilhed In 1770; but the Calculations of the Moon were made in this Emsusars, for the fifth time, from new Tables, improved from mayea's Tables, compofed Mr. Ciiar lbs mason, under my Dire�tion, m Calculations made by Order of the Board of Longitude, upon the Series of lunar Obfervations made by the late Dr. Bradley, and publilhed in the Nautical Almanac of 1774, Jn thele new Tables, the Epoch of the Moon's mean Longiuude is I lefs, that of the Apogee is 56_lefs, and that of the Afcending Node 45 more, than in maa's printed Tables, and the Equations are calculated to Tenths of a Second. Moreover, One new Equation is introduced, whofe Argument is the mean Diltance of the Moon from the Sun's Apogee, and Maximum Thefe new Tables, when compared with the above-mentioned Series of Oh fervations, a roper Allowance being made for the unavoidable rror Of Ob'fcrvation, feem to give always the Moon's Longitude in the Heavens corre�tly within Seconds Of a De cc; which greatefi: Error, added to a poflible rror of One Minute in taking the Moon's Dii'tance from the Sun or a Star at Sea, will at a Medium only pro, duce an Error of 50 Minutes of Longitude.
