About the Author

Edward Chittenden is a developmental psychologist with Educational Testing Service. Terry Salinger, formerly director of research at the International Reading Association, is now a researcher at the Pelavin Research Center of the American Institutes of Research. Anne M. Bussis (1934–1995) was a research psychologist at Educational Testing Service.
