Shed - The opening made in the warp for the passage of the shuttle containing the weft.

Warp - The threads which are extended lengthwise in the 'loom and crossed by the filling or weft; sometimes called the chain, or ends.
Weft - The woof or filling of a fabric; the threads that cross the warp from selvage to selvage.
