Excerpt from Rhymes Atween-Times
In the between-times of a busy life, I have sent forth - among more practical writings - several small volumes of poems, which have been received not unkindly. Yielding to the suggestion of my long-known and large-hearted friend, Mr. George W. Childs, I venture on the present volume, consisting of pieces from my earlier books and of poems of recent composition.
