In issuing a second and enlarged edition of the Columbia Cook Book, the Ladies' Aid Society of the First Baptist Church of Columbia, Tennessee, has endeavored to respond to the earnest and urgent request of an appreciative public.
The first edition of this little book, which was published a few years since for the benefit of the Church, under the auspices and management of Misses Florence Sheppard and Sadie Kerr, met with unstinted praise and approval wherever it chanced to go, yielding a revenue to a worthy cause, for which they must ever feel profoundly grateful.
It is the desire of the Ladies' Aid Society, in launching this second edition for public favor, that it be known that no effort or labor, however arduous, has been spared in an honest endeavor to make this issue surpass in every respect the former one.
It is also desired that this edition, like the first, be respectfully dedicated to the Mothers, Wives, and Daughters of Columbia, Tenn., who have so kindly and cheerfully responded to our petition for the information and subject-matter contained in this book.
